Join us for an unforgettable day as we explore the wonders of painting with pastels, sample French-inspired food, art and music; and learn a technique used by French masters to create luminous pastel paintings. We will paint from inspirational photos taken in France. You will have the opportunity to work with high quality pastels and paper made in France by Sennelier (http://www.sennelier.fr/en/home.php). Denise Bunkert together with Marita Rahlenbeck will lead you in a a day of trust and flow as we play with the healing qualities of crystals and luminous pastels in this one day workshop at the Afton Embrace Retreat House. We will "Play with Purpose" using a selection of crystal stones to draw a soul picture. Then we explore the colors and meanings of your crystal experience, through painting exercises and reflection. This creative art experience, based around a playful process, is suitable for all artistic levels and adult individuals. Join us for an unforgettable day as we explore and play in the wonders of painting with pastels on Madeline Island. During this exciting workshop you will learn techniques to create luminous pastel paintings. This course will focus on informative presentations, demonstrations and hands-on painting in pastels with individual instruction. If fair weather, we will be painting outdoors near the gallery or from inspirational photos taken on the Island. You may select from photos provided by instructor or you may bring your own. This class offers opportunities for all levels of painters, while some pastel knowledge will be helpful. You will have the opportunity to work with high quality pastels from Great American Artworks (www.greatpastels.com) and papers from Dakota Pastels (www.dakotapastels.com). Bring your (chalk) pastels (oil pastels will not be covered in this class), and your creativity as we venture through painting the island for the day. Call gallery to register and for supply list.
